Parks, canals and dog-walking checks

Westbridge Park is Stone’s largest park, in a canal-and-riverside setting on Stafford Road. It has paths, picnic areas, toilets, play facilities, football pitches, a multi-use games area, wheeled-sports facilities, woodland play features and access to Stone Leisure Centre. It is open throughout the year and includes riverside walking routes.

Do not assume that dogs can run off lead throughout Westbridge Park. Check the signs and current park byelaws when you visit, and keep your dog under control around other people and activities. The park’s rules prohibit camping, fires, golf, motor vehicles and horse riding.

Stonefield Park has formal planting, lawns, trees, tennis courts, a bowling green, a pavilion and children’s play equipment. Before moving nearby with a dog, check the signs at the entrance and around the park so you know how dogs are managed.

Crown Meadow is a local nature reserve managed by Stone Town Council. It forms part of the wider Stone Meadows area in the Trent floodplain. Canal and riverside routes are shared public walking spaces. Follow signs, keep dogs under control and do not assume that off-lead walking is allowed.
