Last reviewed: 17 August 2026. Paw Keys is intended for adults using a housing marketplace. Listings, wanted posts, reviews, profiles and private messages can contain user-generated content, so reporting, risk assessment and moderation are operational parts of the service.
Report illegal or unsafe content
Use Report a concern on a property, development or public profile. People do not need a Paw Keys account to make a public-content safety report. Members can also report a Paw Keys conversation. Choose Illegal content / immediate safety concern if the issue may involve criminal activity or a serious threat.
If the relevant report control is unavailable, email customercare@pawkeys.co.uk and include the Paw Keys URL, what you are reporting and why. Do not send unnecessary identity documents, passwords or payment information.
What happens after a report
Paw Keys records reports in a private moderation workflow. Automated risk signals can help prioritise review, but a flag is not treated as proof. Depending on the concern, Paw Keys can hold or remove content, restrict a feature/account, preserve information needed for an investigation, escalate a matter where required, or take no action where the report does not establish a breach.
Where Paw Keys becomes aware of material that appears illegal or creates an immediate safety risk, content can be restricted quickly while the underlying issue is reviewed. Where a statutory reporting obligation applies, Paw Keys will follow the applicable reporting process.
Complaints and moderation appeals
If you reported content and believe Paw Keys has not dealt with an online-safety concern appropriately, or if your own content/account was moderated and you believe the decision was wrong, email customercare@pawkeys.co.uk with Online Safety complaint in the subject line. Include the URL or moderation reference and why you want the decision reviewed. A different human reviewer should be used where reasonably practicable for a substantive appeal.
Marketplace safety controls
- Property and message text can be screened for scam, discriminatory, rent-bidding and other high-risk language.
- Initial contact can stay inside Paw Keys so private email addresses are not exposed by default.
- Public image uploads are restricted to supported image formats and checked before processing.
- Verification evidence uses separate protected storage and retention controls.
- Report, account and publishing actions are rate-limited to reduce automated abuse.
- Risk assessments and safety controls are reviewed when the service changes materially.
Children
Paw Keys accounts and interactive renting/review features are for people aged 18 or over. Public housing and Journal pages can still be encountered without an account. Paw Keys therefore keeps a children’s access assessment alongside its wider online-safety risk assessment and reviews it when the service changes materially.
Emergency situations
Paw Keys is not an emergency service. If somebody is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service. A Paw Keys report can still be useful so content or an account can be reviewed separately.
Paw Keys reviews these policies when the service or applicable rules change.
